Improv
Face/Off
Last weekend we had a great turn out for our “The Price is Drunk” show. Thanks to everyone who came out, got drunk, and laughed at us. This Friday is our last show at Conservatory and it’s going to be an improv competition between Sophomore Album and Vegetable Demon. Both teams will perform one long form improvised piece that will be critiqued by three judges comprised of veteran improv performers and an audience vote. Then the teams will go head to head in classic short form games, racking up points to determine the winner. It’s this Friday night, 11pm, $10, and best of all, BYOB. For reservations call 773.650.1331.
The Price is Drunk
The improv group that I perform in, Sophomore Album, and the group that Tess and Marie perform in, Vegetable Demon, have a show together this Friday. We’re going to be playing classic improv games, but with drinking game twists. There will be a ton of audience interaction and it will be lots of fun. All other info is below.
Sophomore Album
Chicago is probably the best place to study the art of improv. Theatres like Second City, Annoyance, and iO (formerly Improv Olympic) offer classes year round. I’ve been taking improv classes at iO for about a year now and I’ve loved every minute of it. While taking classes I started practicing with a group of hilarious individuals in my free time. We decided to form a group and get a coach (John Douglass) so we could start performing at various locations around the city. I thought it would be a good idea to post our show times on this blog just in case you like my online stupidity and want to see more of it. Show times will be posted soon.
